Couture Faux Moles

The Chanel 2013 Cruise Collection Displays Fake Freckles

The Chanel 2012 Cruise collection was released this week in France’s Versailles region. The models all sported baby-doll looks, clad head to toe in short, light-blue dresses and frilly sleeves. Though many of the pieces showcased authentic Chanel trademarks, such as the brands persistent use of tweed fabrics, a new breakthrough adornment was displayed here, otherwise known as the fake Chanel mole.

Just below the eyes of the models were small double-C embellishments, dotting the blush-streaked cheeks of the in-vogue women. This particular use of faux tattoo-esque decor came as a shock to viewers who noticed the lack of nail polish. The absence of lacquer was substituted here with an unusual approach to cosmetics via the couture freckles. These accessories may soon be seen among the public admirers of the Chanel brand this season.
