Chad Person Creates Brilliant Artwork with Currency

A lot of people use their hard-earned dollars to buy art; Chad Person uses it to create art. This collection of collages are created out of American currency, some of which stem from his earlier exhibit TaxCut (a name derived from the artist's ability to write off the used currency as a tax cut).

Considering the source material used for these portraits, it is impressive to note the amount of detail that is inherent within each piece. The green hue of the currency is appropriate for both the subject depicted (tank, octopus) and the unifying essence of the collection itself, since green is a color initially associated with wealth. Like a mosaic, from a distance these portraits appear as complete illustrations, only to shift in relevance as the audience notices the makeup of dollar bills and coins.
