Piercing-Inspired Mugs

The Cerco Series Features Espresso Handles That Look Like Piercings

The Cerco series by Kutarq studio features a collection of delicate 3D-printed coffee cups that nod to the culture surrounding body modifications.

The small espresso cup's handle is both visually pleasing and ergonomically beneficial. Sitting higher up on the body, the handle wraps around the opening, dipping into the interior of the cup. It's appearance was created this way to intentionally mimic the way a piercing wraps around the wearer's nose. This cup is as unique as it is functional -- creating a perfect talking piece in between post-dinner espresso's or early morning caffeine fixes.

The power of 3D technology has removed previous limitations designers used to face, allowing for unrestricted creativity and experimentation. The Cerco series exemplifies the blossoming relationship that exists between art and technology. Photo Credits: designboom, kutarq
