Ronning has released the ‘Ceramics Everyday Objects’ range, its first collection of home goods, which shares a series of ceramic trays designed by artist Carmen Boyd. The collection uses the aesthetics of Japanese pottery as its design of choice, crafted by Boyd in her Deptford studio using intricately molded clay. The clay pieces are dried or cut into smaller pieces to prevent cracking, and then placed into the kiln for the firing process. The clay offerings are finished with a glaze similar to Japanese Shino ware.
The pieces can function as plates for food, key holders, jewelry organizers, and more. The larger tray is split into multiple sections to accommodate different things, while a smaller tray can be used to hold jewelry, miscellaneous items, or even a small breakfast. A dish has also been created for incense burning, "making every object truly unique," as Ronning says. The ‘Ceramics Everyday Objects’ collection releases later in 2022.
