'Epic Pukes,' a photo series by Venezuelan photographer Pablo Iranzo, depicts celebrity puke at its most violently colorful. Each photo in Iranzo's series shows a black and white singer, from Freddie Mercury to Bjork, vomiting up a bright, cartoonish stream of color. The contrast between the black and white hues of the original photos, and the bright, neon tones of the illustrated vomit makes these photos both eye-catching and comedic. Never has anyone thought of Freddie Mercury vomiting onstage, but with Iranzo's photos, viewers will find this thought difficult to eradicate.
These photos, while being slightly nonsensical, are also extremely creative and satirical. By showing an impossibly vulnerable side to these iconic musicians, Iranzo has created a series that both humanizes and parodies some of the most famous musicians of the past century.
