80s Feline Commercials

'Temptations' Uses Nostalgia & a Cat Band to Promote its Kitty Treats

Cat food brand 'Temptations' and ad agency 'Adam & Eve DDB' created a hilarious commercial to promote Temptations treats in the UK using an all cat band. The advert is a remake of the famous 80s song 'Don't You (Forget About Me)' by Scottish band Simple Minds. This time the band is called 'The Electric Furs' and its comprised of all cats.

The commercial is an 80s style music video about a cat and his relationship with his young female owner who's gone out to shop and left the poor kitty at home. The song's new lyrics beg the owner to remember her pet when she goes out shopping and to bring home treats for the feline. The best part of the ad is The Electric Furs cat band that revels in their cool demeanor as they play instruments and sing into the microphone.

The humorous nostalgic advert is sure to keep viewers hooked and has a very clear target demographic: Gen X women.
