The Casablanca Piano is Expected to Auction for 1.2 Million

The famed Casablanca piano from the classic World War II film is going up for auction and is expected to command over 1 million dollars from the winning bidder.

This item is being offered by a Japanese collector as a gesture to commemorate the film's 70th anniversary. Casablanca is one of modern film's most revered titles and starred Humphrey Bogart, Ingrid Bergman and Paul Henreid. It's standing at this very piano that Humphrey Bogard celebrates a cheers with Ingrid Bergman and Dooley Wilson. After the cheers, Wilson, whose character name was Sam, drops the iconic line "Here's looking at you kid."

The film was actually not an instant hit due to its rushed release to capitalize on the Allied invasion of North Africa in 1942. January 23, 1943 in the United States
