Sustainable Luxury Villas

Casa 7A is a Luxurious and Sustainable Country Villa

Casa 7A is a luxury villa located in the Colombian countryside, a couple of hours drive from the capital Bogota. The villa was built using local labor and utilizing concrete, sandstone, timber and sustainably grown teak for the furniture and flooring.

The villa is oriented north-to-south, which helps reduce solar heat gain and keeps the sun on the swimming pool for much of the day to keep it warm; a solar panel heating system is also on hand to keep the pool water warm.

Casa 7A also features a ventilated roof and catchment system which collects rainwater which can be used for irrigation.

The most interesting design feature of the residence is the semi-outdoor living space. The space is open and doesn't have walls, but timber screens can be slid across to close off the home when privacy is needed.
