Silver-Infused Windshields

This Volkswagen Windshield Warms Up to Prevent Visibility Issues

A frosted car windshield is a common occurrence in the wintertime, so this new design from Volkswagen is intended to be a solution to effectively prevent it from happening. The new windshield incorporates a electrically conductive silver that is sandwiched between the various layers of glass. This allows it to quickly heat up and aid in the defrosting of the windshield to maintain good visibility during the entire drive.

The new car windshield from Volkswagen is also purported to reflect about 60% of the infrared light that shines through to help keep the interior cooler in the summer months. The windshield is set to be introduced as an extra option on the Golf, Golf Sportsvan, Tiguan, Sharan, Passat and Passat Variant models from the brand.
