B.T. Sweet Announces the Launch of Its New Sugar Replacement, Cambya

Emerging food-technology company B.T. Sweet has announced the launch of Cambya, an all-new one-to-one sugar alternative made from plants. The new "drop-in" sugar replacement has been designed for several food applications and features a proprietary blend consisting of monk fruit extract, botanicals, and soluble fibers.

According to the company, Cambya closely replicates the flavor and texture of traditional white sugar while delivering unique health benefits thanks to its incorporation of healthy fibers. What's more, the formula is GMO-free and does not leave any lingering aftertaste, which is a common consumer complaint of other leading alternative sweeteners like stevia.

"Cambya applies a unique process to overcome these organoleptic challenges by targeting the hydrophobic sites on natural sweeteners, rendering them less accessible to flavor receptors. This, in turn, delivers sugar-like sweetening and bulking effect," said B.T. Sweet’s Co-inventor Gil de-Picciotto.
