Cake Opera Wedding Cakes are Rich in Edible Opulence

At first glance, one might not realize the artistic masterpiece that has just taken your breath away is actually a wedding cake crafted by Alexandria Pellegrino of Toronto’s Cake Opera Co. But, if explored closely, all of the immaculate details on these works of art are edible.

Alexandria Pellegrino’s cakes are works of art. This should come as no surprise, as long before the designer attended Le Cordon Bleu's Patisserie program, she received a degree in the Fine Arts studying Drawing and Painting at one of Ontario’s most prestigious art schools. Immersed in her cake designs are vibrant examples of artistic technique and ability, from sculpted details to hand painted ones.

A Cake Opera wedding cake is one of many inspirations; European luxury, ornate wallpaper, 17th Century tall ships and ruby-red pomegranates have all served as starting points in the past. At its heart, however, a Cake Opera cake is a reflection of the bride and groom, and a tribute to their love and life with each other.
