Norway-based studio Aslak Haanshuus Architects created the new Cabin Sjusjoen in the country's most popular cross-country skiing area.
The home was designed to fit into the environment, and protect itself from the harsh wind and weather. With an L-shaped floor plan, this house is organized to put the volume of the space in the east-west axis of the entire plot. Following closely to the natural terrain, the cabin flows over five different levels, creating a modern interior that contrasts the classic wooden exterior. Large windows open up onto the large terrace, allowing for an indoor/outdoor living space, as well as vast views of the snow-covered hills.
Made from prefabricated solid wood materials, the Cabin Sjusjoen stays true to classic Norwegian cabin design, with a unique luxurious twist.
