Popeyes Marked National Biscuit Day with Heart-Shaped Biscuits

Yesterday was National Biscuit Day and, naturally, Popeyes marked the occasion with some heart-shaped buttermilk biscuits.

Popeyes' buttermilk biscuits have always been a fan-favorite item, with more than 292 million flaky buns sold just last year. So it makes sense that the chain would celebrate its signature side dish by showing it some love. The chain even named the heart-shaped biscuits the limited-edition 'Love That' biscuits. As Popeyes head chef Amy Alarcon explained, "With our buttermilk biscuits at the heart of our menu, it only made sense to celebrate with heart-shaped biscuits on National Biscuit Day."

Unfortunately for biscuit lovers, the special-edition biscuits were only available for May 14th, so fingers crossed the chain brings back the promotion next year.
