The traditional Chinese burning tower is reimagined by Hong Kong studio Daydreamers Design with creatively modern connotations. The piece, which spans six meters in height, was created for Hong Kong's annual Mid-Autumn Festival celebration.
The design of the burning tower is made to evoke the color palette of a flame. Daydreamers Design named its project the 'Wishing Pavilion.' The structure takes on a double-helix and a total of 5,000 colored bricks were used for its construction. Each brick is equipped with LED lights in order to have an enhanced effect during nighttime. Daydreamers Design used materials made from recycled plastic bottles, allowing the burning tower pavilion to carry a sustainability-forward demeanor. The 'Wishing Pavilion' is boasted as "Hong Kong's first large-scale architecture project to use recycled plastic bricks."
