Børre Sæthre, a Norwegian artist, has created an installation in which it appears one is viewing a trapped unicorn. His most recent show at Kunsthall Bergen, ‘From Someone Who Nearly Died but Survived’, showcases the unicorn entrapment in a series of abstract and design centric illusions.
When walking through the illusion, you pass through a narrow corridor covered in silencing foam rubber and end up in a claustrophobic space where an immense glass cabinet covers the entire wall. Inside it, a life-size unicorn emerges out of a thick, slowly moving fog. This illusion captures the idea of mythology and unveils it in a artistic zoo-like feature. Børre Sæthre is known for his out-of-the-box artwork and ideology.
