Brotherhood 2.0

Two Brothers Cut Off Communication, Except Through Web Video

The rancorous spread of home-made video blogging continues, now with themes and quirks. Instead of just talking into cameras, people are creating new genres of entertainment for public consumption. Mixing reality TV, talk show, comedy and drama Brotherhood 2.0 gives viewers a fully entertaining three minute dose of John or Hank Green daily.

So, why are they doing it? Quoting brotherhood2.com, “After noticing that their relationship had for years consisted primarily of emails and instant messages, John and Hank swore off all textual communication with each other through all of 2007. Instead, they are making public video blogs back and forth every weekday for the entire year.”

When one of them fails to update or breaks the rules, they are punished. Today, for example, Hank is being punished, and must gorge on 100 marshmallow Peeps for six minutes. Every peep he does not finish will require a one dollar donation to the “Brotherhood 2.0 Foundation for Decreasing Suck Levels Worldwide.” A worthy cause, and one I just may contribute to myself.
