British Airways Encourages Its Crew to Be Their Authentic Selves

British Airways is liberating its own crew uniform policy with a new dress code that has no specific rules that are gender-specific. The crew are encouraged to be their most authentic selves and all employees including pilots and cabin crew are able to have piercings, wear makeup, and have 'man buns' if they so, please.

However, the makeup and nail polish are to be kept in 'subtle shades' with no black or neon colors preferably. As a message to their staff, British Airways encourages that to "be bold, be proud, be yourself," regardless of their ethnicity, culture, sexual identity, background, or gender identity. This invites an inclusive work culture and establishes an authentic place to work.
