THIS Partners With BrewDog to Create Skin-On Vegan Chicken Wings

UK-based hyper-realistic meat alternative producer THIS has collaborated with brewery and pub chain BrewDog to launch Europe's first skin-on vegan chicken wings. Setting itself apart, THIS focuses on replicating darker cuts like wings and thighs, offering a distinctive texture in the plant-based market. Priced affordably at 25p per wing, these culinary delights come paired with a choice of three delectable sauces: Buffalo, Korean BBQ, or Dragon Spice.

Crafted from soy, pea protein and THIS' innovative olive oil-based fat technology, the wings boast a crispy seaweed-based "skin" for an authentic taste and texture akin to traditional chicken wings.

"Whole-cut animal meat products, such as chicken wings and legs, have a complex three-dimensional architecture in which protein fibres are bound together by a network of connective tissue and intramuscular fat," said Luke Byrne, R&D Director at THIS. "This structure provides juiciness and incredible texture when eaten — which we’ve now been able to mimic."
