The Bojotar Was Invented By Bow Thayer

The Bojotar is an instrument that was created by hugely accomplished string picker Bow Thayer. Thayer dreamed up and designed the instrument when he realized there wasn't an instrument out there that could be used for finger picking, steel sliding and banjo rolling in a single package.

The Bojotar has a magnificent mahogany body with a black finish and a 24.75-inch scale and a 20-fret painted maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard. The instrument features five strings fed from the bridge all the way down to the special Grover tuners at the head. The conventional bottom E string is eschewed in favor of a low-tuned drone string.

The instrument's suggested retail price is $1,049, although Eastwood Guitars, the Toronto-based manufacturer, is offering it for pre-release at $879.
