The BMW i8 Spyder Concept is an Efficient High Speed Luxury Ride

You don't have to be a car aficionado in order to appreciate the finesse of the BMW i8 Spyder. This latest concept design comes in succession to the previous i8 Coupe that was showcased earlier last year.

The hybrid car can run up to 19 miles on electricity alone before the engine kicks in in order to recharge the batteries. The BMW i8 Spyder features front-wheel, rear-wheel and all-wheel drive, allowing the driver to switch between efficiency, performance or weather-traction. Using carbon fiber and aluminum, BMW was able to reduce the extra weight caused by the hybrid drivetrain.

Going from zero to 62 mph in just five seconds, the BMW i8 Spyder is a beautiful concept design that will hopefully see production in the near future. Of course, whether or not that coincides with when you'll be able to afford one remains unannounced.
