The Big Hands Clock by Yenwen Tseng Plays With the Perception of Time

The Big Hands Clock is a minimalist timepiece that really relies on people's ability to read time. It has the traditional hands of a classic clock, although the word 'traditional' is used loosely here, but it is devoid of the usual minute and hour markings that help tell the time. In fact, it also lacks the encasing of a clock.

Designed by Yenwen Tseng, a Taiwanese designer based in Taichung, the Big Hands Clock encourages people to explore the perception of time. Tseng elaborates, "By adjusting the proportion and relative position of normal clock hands, hour and minute, the two hands interact inseparably and show various expressions of time at every moment." The Big Hands Clock is more like abstract art than an actual working clock.
