Square-Shaped Bike Locks

The Vier Bicycle Lock Has an Innovative New Design

The Vier bicycle lock, designed by California cyclists Allen and Paige Young, is designed to offer the security of a typical U-shaped lock while being easy to dismantle into a compact package when not in use.

This bicycle lock comprises a pair of cylindrical locking components and two shackles, all of which are made of hardened vinyl-covered steel. To lock your bike, you simply have to insert the shackles into the locking bodies. Once locked together, the Vier has 1.5 tons pull strength. It is also pick-resistant and drill-resistant.

The developers of this innovatively designed bicycle lock have taken to Kickstarter to raise funds to bring their invention to production. A pledge of $65 will get you a lock if and when they're ready to go.
