Religious Table Settings

The Bella Maniera Collection is Inspired by 'The Last Supper'

You may not see it at first, but the Bella Maniera collection is inspired by Leonardo da Vinci’s 'The Last Supper.' These minimalist table settings take on the personality of each of the 12 apostles that dined with Jesus Christ that night through unique hand gestures and even the occasional accessory.

Created by French design firm Mr. & Mr., the Bella Maniera collection is made up of 13 placemats (or three table runners). Not only does it reenact this iconic dinner in a unique and fun manner, it also "provides a new outlook on this convivial rite of sharing and unity," as the designers put it.

I especially like how much thought was put into the Bella Maniera collection. For instance, James the usurper is seen wearing biker gloves to signify his rebellious nature.
