The Dark Knight poster is a rendering of the scene where Batman captures the Joker, and depicts the Joker tied up and dangling from scaffolding on a construction site. The final poster, The Dark Knight Rises, has the looming Shadow of Batman rising up out of a silhouette of Gotham City. The minimal use of colors and severe edges of the posters make for dark and sinister images that are a perfect fit of the set of films.
