Monochrome Comic Covers

These Batman Covers Feature Pieces by Many Different Artists

This collection of rare Batman covers show a limited-edition series called 'Batman Black and White.' This special series was only released seven comic books at a time, and were a collection of stories and covers from various artists and writers. Some of the most prominent comic book artists contributed to the caped crusaders monochrome covers.

Some artists opted for thrilling covers, with elaborate backgrounds and explosions. Others artists however, adapt Batman and often Robin into their own aesthetic, like Roz Chast's Laverne & Shirley-themed illustration of the two characters rest in recliners. Some Batman covers displayed were never released modern-day sketches from artists.
