Conscious Californian Casuals

Barnabas Clothing Donates a Portion of Sales to HIV/AIDS Support

If you take a look at Pasadena-based Barnabas Clothing, you'll hands-down get the laid-back vibe and ethos of this young company. But this isn't your average California-cool brand. At the center of it all is the desire to shine positivity onto the world. Through clothing? Really?

"I want this to be more than just having a name or a brand," founder Alexander Aquino told Collide Magazine. "I want the brand to be a lifestyle that encourages other people to really stand for positive choices, role modeling and a good message."

In addition, the purpose-driven brand donates 10% of sales to The Living Room International, which is an NGO that supports those with (and affected by) HIV/AIDS in Western Kenya.

Jake Short of Disney's A.N.T. Farm is a backer of Barnabas and even has his own limited edition tee. With a children's line, the company is kid-oriented (but also offers men's and women's sizes) and is part of a wider pattern of children's clothing with a socially conscious mission. Because why would you think kids don't care about the world?
