Barefoot on The Runway

Not-So-Ready-To-Wear Footwear at Brian Reyes Fall 2009

A number of models at Brian Reyes’ Fall 2009 Fashion Week show ditched their Manolo Blahniks and went barefoot down the runway. Some stumbled, some looked as if they just walked right out of their shoes and a few just gave up, took them off and carried them.

It’s hard to imagine that these experienced fashion models were defeated by the rather innocent-looking, classically styled pumps, but one after another the heels were removed. When the girls came out at the end for the finale, they were all barefoot. They looked sort of liberated in a way.

As a note, Brian Reyes’ collection of light and feminine clothes still looked fabulous thanks to the charming way the models remained poised during the show, even through the awkward moments.
