A recently unveiled exhibition in Milan titled ‘Barbie: The Icon’ will display the historical evolution of Barbara Millicent Robert, better known as Barbie. This iconic doll from the famed brand Mattel reveals the whimsical journey that began in 1959.

The evolutionary doll has changed as time elapsed, which is the story that will be told at the exhibition. With a lifespan of 56 years, Barbie has "undergone much transformation and also few controversies but she has evolved with time and still continues to remain a household name."

Barbie: The Icon is officially open to the public and will be on display until March 2016. The entire exhibition was curated by Massimiliano Capella as a family-friendly event. There are five distinct rooms that will take guests on an insightful time-traveling journey, which aims to truly honor the iconic blonde-haired doll.
