The Baobed is a portable treehouse that can be hung from a tree or placed on the ground. It is inspired by the exotic fruit that dangle from the branches of African baobab trees, hence the name 'Baobed.'
The cozy, orb-shaped capsule measures four-by-two meters and weighs 450 kilograms. It is big enough to contain up to two people.
Each Baobed has three fixed windows, two opening windows, a hinged door and four attachment points that can be used to attach the unit to a tree. Optional extras include mattresses, bedding, a suspension kit to hang the Baobed from a tree, a platform for ground installation, mosquito nets and storage equipment.
The Baobed design is currently somewhere between concept and realization; as a result, there are not images of the Baobed hanging from a tree just yet.
