Rapping Food Shorts

Bankshot Shoots a Stop-Motion Video Using Talking Edibles

Directed by Bankshot, this short shows the thug side of carbs, veggies, fruits and sweets. Hell, there is even a green pepper with grillz on. What's more, the lemon (with strawberry eyes) looks like it wants to cut someone and the cake is just plain intimidating.

A recent nominee in the animation, stop-motion and puppets category for the prestigious Vimeo awards, the video features hilarious tunage from the likes of DJ Nick Castle. The beginning of the stop motion film exclaims, "We should rap about things we like... Like... food!" It seems DJ Nick Castle and I have that in common.

Remixing lines from iconic rap songs of the past, DJ Nick Castle pulls out only the parts from rap songs that have to do with food. Biggie Smalls, Q-Tip and Method Man among others are sampled singing about bacon, toast and of all things, flapjacks. Apparently breakfast is a popular meal amongst the hip hop community.
