American pet retail giant Petco has teamed up with Backcountry, a camping and hiking equipment brand, to launch an outdoor apparel and accessories collection for dogs titled Backcountry x Petco. With the new partnership, Petco is finding a unique way to connect with dog owners, further separating itself from competing pet retailers.
The Backcountry x Petco aims to appeal to dog owners who are also outdoor lovers. "There’s a whole new generation of pet parents eager to explore the outdoors - and bring their pets along for the ride," he said. The products are designed to be durable and suitable for activities like camping and hiking," said Aaron Weiss, senior vice president of owned brands at Petco.
The collection will consist of 54 items including travel mats, dog sleeping bags, foldable crates, leashes, harnesses, flotation devices, and canine apparel.
