Eerily Realistic Doll Portraits

These Baby Portraits Feature Extremely Realistic Infant Dolls

Talented artist Rebecca Martinez's baby portraits series 'PreTenders' features mothers and newborns, but these newborns are actually realistic dolls. Seeing the pictures in this series makes it hard to believe that these tiny little guys aren't real. These eerily life-like dolls are so detailed, it's hard to recognize them as fake.

In some of these baby-focused shots, "mothers" are lovingly holding these lively looking dolls, while in others, these plastic little darlings are lying down, draped in adorable baby apparel. One of these shots features two babies standing up in a playpen, but these two are also faux babies.

I find the name of this series to be incredibly clever. The mothers in this series are pretending to hold little babies, and these kinds of shots would typically be thought of as tender moments, but in fact it's all a lie.
