People were using candles for a long time before the lightbulb came along, but it's wonderful to see how low- and hi-tech overlap in this whimsical B Light. Jeroen van Leur has created a traditional paraffin-based lamp that illuminates in the familiar way, yet it has been sculpted to resemble the look of a modern electric source.
Using beeswax as the primary material, the designer molded the item into the bulbous form of a conventional light globe. To reinforce the contemporary reference, he integrated a metal screw cap into the base of the luminary, making the form match its source of inspiration effectively. With the wick lit at the top of the B Light, a gorgeous golden glow is emitted.
