7-Eleven is Testing Autonomous Robot Delivery in Los Angeles

7-Eleven has announced a new autonomous robot delivery pilot project being launched in partnership with Serve Robotics that aims to offer patrons the ability to get some of their favorite items as quickly and conveniently as possible.

The pilot project will see consumers in the Los Angeles area able to place an order through the brand's 7NOW delivery app where they will be alerted that their order might be delivered by a self-driving robot. Customers are required to greet the robot outside before using a code to access their order inside.

7-Eleven shoppers who take advantage of the autonomous robot delivery will be charged a $2.99 fee, which is the same as the one for a human driver but without the need for a tip.
