Artist Sammy Slabbinck Combines Vintage Photos for Surreal Effect

New work has emerged from artist Sammy Slabbinck's impressive portfolio and, just as before, it duly impresses. He once again takes cutouts from vintage magazines, a source of material he has been enamored with since he was a small boy, and juxtaposes them with surreal imagery to create scenes that inspire imagination and provoke thoughts.

Using pictures found from such retro magazines as TIME, National Geographic and LIFE Magazine, artist Sammy Slabbinck creates the illusion that a family from the '50s are eating bowls of ocean water and model's are getting painted by mini men. Slabbinck reveals, "Structuring images is the hardest part of all. There is no real fixed strategy, it all boils down to a gut feeling I guess."
