Google's AR Beauty Try-On Lets Users Test Products Virtually

Google has launched its new AR Beauty Try-On tool, which will allow YouTube users to try on makeup virtually when watching makeup tutorials. The AR creates a split screen, with YouTube on one half and the AR camera on the other. Google's AR Beauty Try-On uses front-facing cameras to capture the user and to also applies the AR filters that display the virtual makeup. Additionally, it uses machine learning, that will work with a variety of skin tones.

Google's new AR tool is currently in alpha and can be accessed using FameBit, which is a content platform for Google. The onus will be on brands to add its content to the platform -- MAC Cosmetics is an early adopter of the technology and has already signed up.
