AEG's 'Magic Mirror' Immerses Consumers in Fantastical AR Experiences

Kitchen appliance brand AEG installed what it calls a 'Magic Mirror' in London's Kings Cross station for the purposes of connecting consumers to fun, imaginative and immersive AR advertisements. Those in the station who stand in front of the interactive screen have the chance to play with augmented reality gorillas, penguins and elephants, as well as home appliances from AEG.

AR advertising specialists '3rock' worked with AEG on bringing the Magic Mirror to the masses and as director Ian Brookes says, "within 12-18 months you'll be seeing this as a permanent fixture in locations all over the world." This kind of highly engaging out-of-home advertising excites consumers and connects them to a technology they may have heard about, but have yet to experience the wonders of firsthand.
