The AquaJar is a hybrid aquarium and plant pot that harnesses the technology of aquaponic farming to create a self-sustaining home ecosystem.

The aquaponic farming-based concept of the AquaJar is simple. An evolution on the idea of hydroponic farming, in which plants' roots are suspended in and nourished by water, aquaponic farming develops a symbiotic relationship between a fish and a plant. The lower half of the AquaJar is a fish tank, where a beautiful Beta fish can live. In the top, a small house plant grows. The plant's roots feed off of the waste that the fish leaves in the water, meaning that owners of the aquaponic farming system never have to worry about nourishing the plant or cleaning the aquarium's water.

It's a perfect, pretty hybrid house plant and aquarium that requires a fraction of the care and attention that sustaining life on one's window sill normally does.
