AWS Debuts Application Composer, a Low-Code Tool for Serverless Apps

AWS has launched the AWS Application Composer, a digital low-code tool made for visual design and building serverless applications. The tool equips developers with a visual canvas that supports drag-and-drop functionality in order to create an app’s infrastructure and design its functions. Using Application Composer, developers can design and use functions for transformation tasks almost immediately, giving them a way to produce code and work on it in their IDE of choice. Users can also share work with colleagues and collaborate with each other on projects due to the application’s visual nature.

"In a synchronous system, you have all these components. In the event-driven [architecture], how they work together can sometimes look a little daunting. So we’ve been thinking about how can we simplify this. How can you make it easier, for example, for developers that never used serverless before? How do you know where to start? Which services do they need? How do they work together? We really wanted to make this easier," said AWS’ CTO Werner Vogels.
