In the wake of several controversial claims that TSA workers are rifling through scanned images inappropriately, L-3 and Rapiscan are planning to upgrade their software to provide anonymous airport security scanners. This upgrade will take "raw data from the scanner and display it as a generic human-formed figure on the monitor of the TSA agent," according to Gizmodo.
I can only hope that these anonymous airport security scanners are put into place in time for my next vacation. Even though I haven't yet had to go through one, the idea is so disturbing that this small comfort eases the sense of violation that overcomes me whenever I think about it.
