Anonymity by Poklong Anading Disguises Identity

Anonymity by Poklong Anading are a series of photos that capture life while concealing identity. While social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram are great tools to connect individuals worldwide, they have created a privacy breach where at the press of a button that privacy is sacrificed.

These photos create a sense of protection where the individuals' bodies are visible, but a white glowing flash replaces the peoples' faces. To create this effect, Anading had the models hold up a mirror to their faces, which reflected back into the eye of the camera.

After receiving his bachelor of fine arts in 1999 at the University of the Phillippines, Poklong Anading began exhibiting his work worldwide. He has completed projects in experimental video, installation, painting and concept-based artwork.
