Ann-Made is a line of socially-conscious, environmentally-friendly jewelry created by Ann Skydell Harmon.
Ann makes all the jewelry by hand using recycled materials, including aluminum tabs from pop and beer cans, which she includes in decorative ways in bracelets, earrings, pendants and barrettes.
Her website explains a method of fundraising used by charities and nonprofits that involves collecting aluminum tabs and selling them to recycling companies. Ann has formed relationships with local nonprofits that use this fundraising method, and offers them a higher rate than the recyclers would, helping them reach their goals sooner.
Of course, not all these tabs are cut out to be featured in jewelry, so after washing and examining them, she gives about 75% of them back to the nonprofit so they can resell them to regular recyclers.
