Angella Mackey's Vega Line Lights Up Outerwear for Bikers

Canadian artist and designer Angella Mackey showcased her safety-first cyclist line at Toronto International Film Fest's Style Casting event. The collection, titled 'Vega,' is distinguished by its bright qualities.

Each piece in the Vega line includes implanted red lights. The strips shine at night, making bikers visible to oncoming cars. The instance of collisions will be diminished greatly with purchase of the pea coats.

The wool and linen designs are also notably stylish with wrap-around collars, tight waist belts and slouchy hoods. Mackey has thus managed to make the evasion of risk appear cool, a stylish feat that few in the industry have attempted. Her current residence in Gothenberg, Sweden encouraged her perspective as the city is replete with speedy cyclists.
