Undead Burlesque Beauties

French Artist Angel Roy Zombifies Pretty Pin-Ups

Changing the nature of original prints, French artist Angel Roy seriously manipulates photos of pin-ups by killing the subject and bringing them back to life.

Though Roy doesn't really do anything illegal in the creative process, the zombie-inspired outcome of these prints is incredibly startling. By darkening, dissecting and showing unseen body parts, Roy really takes away the life in these portraits. Just in case these photos weren't enough of a trademark for the artist, each portrait is marked with what looks like a first-aid cross. Perhaps the most troubling of the set is one which features what appears to be a detonating bomb; though subtle, the illuminated numbers radiate a dangerous energy.

Creepy, yet still retaining the gorgeousness of their original form, these photos have a wonderful balance between darkness and intrigue.
