Andi Galdi Vinko is not interested in beauty. In a culture where beauty is posited as the be-all, end-all, this might seem a little strange. One look at the Hungarian photographer's work, however, will reveal her propensity for perversity.
There is no doubt that Vinko's photographs are a little unsettling; but, beyond that, they are imbued with an impulsive quality. There is nothing staged about any of her images, as wild or improbable as they might seem -- she's simply making things up as she goes along.
