The traditional bath tub-filling faucets often leave the hottest parts of the water on top, while leaving a cooler layer underneath, but the Andante instead fills the tub with water from the bottom.
Designed by Jun Young Park, the Andante is shaped more like a capsule than a tub, and forms around the body's physique when lying down. The water seeps through into the tub from the bottom, reducing the resonance effect that a traditional bathtub creates when water from the faucet hits the surface of the water already in the tub. Park attempts to recreate the feeling of the ocean water when it touches our feet first instead of having to dump ourselves into the water in one go. As such, he hopes to create a enjoyable bathing experience in a "calm and comfortable surrounding."
