'New Yorkers Against Gun Violence' and 'Volt' created a campaign that works to bring awareness to the severity of American gun violence.
To do so, a video titled 'Sign Their Yearbook' was released to show how prevalent fatalities are among students across the country, explaining that "in the past 15 years alone, over 30,000 young Americans have lost their lives in gun-related violence before graduating high school."
With these disturbing statistics in mind, the New Yorkers Against Gun Violence manufactured a yearbook for those who didn't get one, asking supporters to sign an online petition so that their signatures can be included within the book so it can be presented to the senate. The book is made just like any other, however includes information on each victim along with their pictures instead of graduating quotes.
By signing the yearbook, supporters are able to pay condolences to the victims of American gun violence as well as potentially play a stake in preventing it.
