The United States Mint recently revealed a new collectible that's likely to appeal to coin connoisseurs who have an appreciation for patriotic silver, with the 2018 American Eagle Silver Proof Coin launching on January 4th.
On one side, the coin is stamped with the year, the word "Liberty," the phrase "In God We Trust," and "Adolph A. Weinman’s full-length figure of Liberty in full stride, enveloped in folds of the flag, with her right hand extended and branches of laurel and oak in her left." On the opposite side is "former Mint Sculptor-Engraver John Mercanti’s heraldic eagle with shield, an olive branch in the right talon and arrows in the left."
Each coin is struck on a 99.9% fine silver blank, placing its value at $55.95 USD.
