Amazon Announced its Rivian-Made Delivery Vans are Coming in 2022

Amazon announced that its upcoming fleet of Rivian-manufactured Amazon delivery vans will be hitting the streets of several major cities by the end of 2022. These vans were engineered by Rivian, the American electric vehicle manufacturer, specifically to serve as delivery vehicles for Amazon's online store.

These delivery vans are not only sustainable by way of their electric engines, but are also very safe. Each Rivian delivery van features 360-degree camera visibility around it, as well as a number of smart features. These features include contact detection, swerve prevention, traffic-assist technology, automatic braking in emergency situations, and more. On top of this, these delivery vans have a smart trunk door that opens once the driver reaches their GPS destination for delivery purposes. This prevents theft while improving convenience for the workers.

Amazon stated that the Rivian delivery vans will be tested in 100 cities by the end of 2022. The vans will be identifiable by what Amazon refers to as a "unique external sound" when the vehicle stops moving for delivery.
