'Bivouac Luca Pasqualetti' is the name of the prefabricated Alpine shelter situated at an altitude of 3,290 meters in the Morion Ridge. The project is done in collaboration between LEAPfactory and Italian architects Roberto Dini and Stefano Girodo. The intent behind the development is to motivate the "exploration of forgotten routes" and offer people hiking the mountain a headquarters that will offer them safety and a place to rest. Such structures that are hard to reach is reported to "encourage niche alpinism."
Needless to say, the Alpine shelter was built on a tricky site and unpredictable weather conditions. However, the possibility of prefabricated housing made the process significantly easier. The silhouette of the Alpine shelter is almost shipping container-like, however, Roberto Dini and Stefano Girodo counter the industrial sensibilities with this through a cozy and rustic interior.
